The Watsons

Emma Watson returns to her family after being raised by a wealthy aunt, unmarried and without a penny of her inheritance. With their father in decline, Emma and her sisters have to marry fast, and choose from suitors including the wealthy but awkward Lord Osborne, and the caddish Tom Musgrave. So far, so Jane Austen - except for that she didn’t finish the story, and now the characters don’t want to do what the new writer tells them.

Based on Jane Austen’s unfinished novella, The Watsons was directed for the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School at the Old Fire Station, and performed by graduating BA Actors.

“flawless, pacy, and very witty… much loving attention has gone into this production” - Stage Talk Magazine ★★★★★
