A (bath)room of One's Own
This short, devised piece was part of a larger production with independent company Tallulah Theatre. Six female directors created six site-specific works highlighting an aspect of the female experience.
A (bath)room of One's Own was an exploration of the girl’s bathrooms at high school - the only unsupervised space in that environment, and the site for rites of passage and negotiations of power.
"The bathroom in this piece is similar in some ways to the Old Wives’ Tales project itself, which also provides a space for women to express creative autonomy without the intervention of men. Thankfully, these expressions do not need to be kept behind closed doors. A (bath)room of one’s own is a technically impressive show by a relatively experienced director."
